to my web site!
My name is Angela Medd and I have been researching my family history
since 2001. My family is from the Leeds and Grenville are in
Ontario, Canada, from a city called Brockville.
Brockville, to me, is one of the prettiest cities in Ontario and has
a population of approximately 22, 000 people. It was first settled around
1785 as a Loyalist Community and was originally named Buell's Bay after its
founder William Buell. In 1812 the city was renamed Brockville to honour a
hero of the war of 1812, Sir Isaac Brock.
City Hall (pictured in the
center) was constructed sometime between 1862 and 1864. The Brockville
MuseumCanada's Oldest Railway tunnel (pictured on the right) started
construction in 1854. It was completed on December 31, 1860. Steam
locomotives traveled through it for almost 100 years.
The
Brockville Museum located on Henry
Street.

THANK
YOU!
I
would like to take this
opportunity to thank a few
people that helped to pave the
way to where I am today.
I
would like to give my sincere
thanks to the late Rev. P.
Alberry. If it were not
for his previous research,
guidance and help I would
probably still be looking for my
great grandfather. My
wonderful friends and distant
cousins Wayne Tanney and Mike
Booth for all their extended and
ongoing help on the Tanney and
Vout family file. Larry
LaFlair, for his help in solving
the Alberry/Lennox family file.
J. Mould for all her information
on the Smith Family File and
ongoing updates and help with
the Tanney and Alberry line.
Paula for all her help with the
Sarah Bishop and Jane and Sydney
Lennox mystery. A very
large thank you to my friend,
Annmarie, for all her lookups
and help along the way. My
cousin, Bev, for running all
over town looking up information
for me. Pamela, Judith and
Laurine for their help in the
Cutway family file. My
cousin Jim for his information
on the Greenis family file.
And a special thank you goes out
to my wonderful husband and
family for their patience,
recollections and stories with
me on this endeavor. Thank
you all from the bottom of my
heart.
